When One 17 architects and interior designers bought The Dyehouse, a derelict Victorian textile building on the edge of a conservation village, to convert to their new offices, a number of farm outbuildings came as part of the deal. Indeed the area was known locally as Tolson Farm. Sitting within green belt and surrounded by trees, the buildings provided a rare opportunity to demonstrate One 17’s belief in the reuse of old buildings for new purposes and the chance to create two truly characterful homes that would appeal to those not satisfied with the run of the mill.

The two dwellings are linked, albeit only lightly, but form a single composition with contrasting personalities. This entry concerns Tolson Court, the single storey one of the two.
