The Secret Drawer has been making superior handmade kitchens since 1998. The team, headed by award-winning cabinetmaker Richard Mason, have carved themselves a niche at the top end of the market.
Designed to create a unique and perfect space for cooking and living, every Secret Drawer kitchen is built by a skilled craftsman dedicated to making it from start to finish, creating a bespoke kitchen to exact specifications.
Uniquely, every family experiencing a new kitchen enjoys the thrill of seeking out a secret drawer. With tiny dovetailed joints and a clever mechanism, this signature speciality is not only cunningly well hidden but also serves a purpose - an incredibly handy place for squirreling something precious away. Only the cabinetmaker dedicated to the project knows where it can be found.
Beautiful natural materials are used for kitchen worktops such as English Lakeland slate, granite and marble, as well as The Secret Drawer’s own beautifully seasoned and crafted solid woods. Outstanding appliances from world class brands such as Miele, Wolf, Sub Zero, Lacanche, Britannia and Quooker are all cleverly integrated so that the finished result is one of sheer luxury from fancy fridges to cappuccino at the touch of a button.
Appealing to both traditional or contemporary tastes, Richard and the team create unique kitchens by turning each customer’s own ideas and wish list into reality - with inspiring ideas, design flair and immaculate workmanship.
An interior designer is involved in every step of the process, selecting the most beautiful materials from fine limestone to fabulous fabrics. Customers can visit the Skipton workshop to see their kitchen being made; from the natural timber right through to polishing or painting.
Once the kitchen has been designed and furniture made, the fitting team ensure the work is installed seamlessly with the same level of quality, care and precision. With a builder, plumber, electrician, specialist decorator and furniture fitters all trained to exacting Secret Drawer standards, the work is guaranteed for six years. A schedule of works is provided, along with KBSA approval and insurance, handover care packs, a 12 month check-up and after sales service ensuring complete peace of mind for the customer. The Secret Drawer will even supply packing boxes and a temporary kitchen to help ease the transition from old to new.
For homeowners who are looking for creative design, good craftsmanship and a perfect end result from start to finish, The Secret Drawer has the edge over most interiors companies. Customers who have had kitchens made have also gone on to commission The Secret Drawer to refurbish other rooms and even their properties abroad, knowing that the standard of workmanship is exceptional from the initial brief to the placing of the final cushion. Their long list of testimonials speaks volumes – as do the pictures here and at
